I’m Katie, the founder of Wild Fern Collective. My journey began while traveling the world, where I hired photographers to capture my story in each new place. Through this experience, I discovered the transformative power of embracing myself in front of the camera, learning to see myself with compassion, confidence, and love. That journey inspired me to create Wild Fern Collective, a space where every woman can connect with her true self, feel celebrated, and honor the strength and beauty of her unique story. I believe that each of us deserves to be seen fully, in all our diversity and individuality. Traveling solo as a woman is an empowering journey of self-discovery, courage, and freedom. Each destination becomes more than a place on a map; it’s a chapter in the story of resilience and self-empowerment. Documenting these experiences through creative portraiture allows me to capture not only the landscapes I’ve explored but also the evolution within myself. Standing alone in a new setting, embracing my surroundings, and seeing myself reflected back through the camera lens has deepened my confidence and sense of identity. Through each portrait, I’m reminded of the strength and independence I’ve cultivated by embracing the world—and myself—with open arms.
